Our mission is to scale the development of reliable, high-quality healthcare for every patient.
Despite positive intentions and enormous effort, most modern healthcare interventions in low-resource settings fail. Global Hospital implements transformative interventions with real and measurable impact.
We work with governments, NGOs, and private companies to plan, execute, and maintain healthcare infrastructure projects where they are needed the most. The factors affecting the availability of quality healthcare vary greatly — from poverty to extreme weather or disaster events to lack of clinical training — but there is a common thread anywhere you look: access to quality healthcare can change a person’s life.
Our story
Building On a Foundation of Excellence
Through their philanthropic efforts, Garreth and Nicola Wood saw firsthand the shortage of pediatric surgical infrastructure in low-resource settings and the critical need for sustainable solutions.
Driven by a desire to transform pediatric surgical care worldwide, Kids Operating Room officially launched in 2015, quickly establishing itself as the leading global charity focused on surgical infrastructure for children. Providing life-saving equipment, training, and surgical spaces has resulted in a tangible and sustainable approach to care. As a testament to the success of this model – by the end of 2024 there will be 100 KidsOR sites around the world!
Now, that vision is being expanded even further. Building on the successful foundation and expertise of KidsOR, Global Hospital is replicating that success for patients of all ages. As a commercial enterprise, our goal is to help our customers implement healthcare solutions that work and make the expertise of our team available to everyone in global health.
