At the end of 10th grade the name KANVAS stuck with me. For me it was a blank space which could be converted into anything and everything that I felt like. This vast blank page was a metaphor for my imagination to go crazy and was also a space for my ideas and making my dreams come true.
In June 2009, the journey towards Kanvas began with the intent to bring new, personalized designs to its customers. Initially Kanvas was more of a passion project wherein we offered customers custom painted products, hand painted gifts and personalized day to day products.
In 2013, while studying fashion and specializing in Indian Art and Culture I came across the vastness of Indian Art. This subject brought me closer to the withering traditional Indian art-forms that were once cherished as a realm of pure art in India. Having stayed in a country with such a rich heritage of art and design, the brand KANVAS found its true purpose. Further with my passion for footwear since the age of 5, in 2015 I finally decided to combine the two and make this passion into a professional business.
Kanvas began in May 2015 with the intent to bring new, original artistic designs to its customers.
Our motto is to revive the withering traditional Indian art-forms that were once cherished as a realm of pure art in India. Can we really give our nation something creative…? That embraces fashion with the India touch…? Yes, we can! Our craftsmen are trained to transform sophisticated, native art into fashionable, modern forms to infuse vigor in our designs.
We wish to see our shoes talk ancient Indian art, and we are sure they will.

Kanvas is and has always been about expressing yourself by wearing what you like, the way you like it. It is about defining your world by your choices of design. It is a brand that rejoices creativity, colours and self-expression.
Our country has a rich heritage of art and design. Various forms of painting and textile art have flourished for a long time in India. At Kanvas, we believe that we need to protect these dying art forms. Without patronage, the artisans who work tirelessly to create these handicrafts feel disillusioned and prefer to discontinue their practice. They pursue other labours in order to earn a regular source of income. This is terrible news for such valuable, indigenous art-forms.
In tune with our mission, Kanvas creates products that celebrate Indian ethnic designs. Our products range from handmade designer footwear for men and women, custom-made formal and occasional wear shoes, some limited edition pieces and artistic shoes.
We also customize shoes to match your outfits, for your wedding or any other special day. The designs are intricate, beautiful and inspired by diverse styles of art and painting in India.
